Near the ancient capital of China, this mountain has been considered sacred for millennia. Mount Hua Shan has several peaks, one of which is visible in the photo below. The path up the mountain is carved into the living rock and inscriptions line the route. This photo is taken from the resting point half-way up the mountain where we stopped for lunch.
